Commercial Roofing Repair with IKO Mach One for Tyne Tunnel
Initial Commercial Roofing Repair Assessment and Preparations:
During the initial commercial roofing repair survey of this commercial flat roofing project, core samples were taken to assess the existing build-up. The examination revealed a dry underlying structure, allowing us to retain the existing insulation and waterproof covering. Our task involved stripping off all gravel and addressing any loose or blistered areas.
Installation of IKO Mach One System:
We proceeded to install the IKO Mach One single-layer system across all existing areas, complemented by IKO Goldseal for detailing such as wall upstand and box gutter detail.
Addressing Skylights with IKO Polimar System:
To address the skylights, we opted for the IKO Polimar seamless liquid system, providing enhanced waterproofing due to its circular shape.
Commercial Roofing Repair Completion and Inspection:
This commercial roofing repair was approximately 900 square meters and took DVC Roofing 3 weeks to complete. All our experts on this job are fully approved IKO installers, all holding relevant training certificates.
Quality Assurance and Warranty:
This roof has now been passed off by an IKO Technical engineer and will hold a single-point warranty from IKO PLC.
Mach One System Overview:
Mach One membranes are comprised of a polyester glass-fibre composite reinforcement with exceptional mechanical strength and stability. The reinforcement is coated with a high percentage of SBS modified bitumen incorporating Graphite Firewall Technology and surfaced with green, black, or brown mineral granules. Mach One is a single-layer roofing system that can be mechanically fastened, ballasted, or bonded with polyurethane adhesive. The membrane may be used on either insulated or uninsulated commercial roofing repair in conjunction with the other IKO Systems products.
