This Commercial flat roof was surveyed by SIG for using Signature Torch On systems.
The existing roof membrane was found to be defective, and had exceeded its life expectancy, the insulation deck was saturated, all perimeter flashings were split and had detached from the upstands.
DVC Roofing were successful in the tender process and commenced work in May 2016. The video illustrates the various stages of the works
The existing defective materials were stripped back to the metal profile sheet. All the old flat roof skylights were removed and replaced with new barrel vaulted insulated aluminium windows. A new Vapour Control Layer (VCL) was fixed direct to the metal profile sheets. New 80mm flat roof board insulation with staggered joints was adhered to the VCL with Signature Pu adhesive; this method ensured the VCL was not breached by using screw fixings. The finish Commercial flat roof membrane applied to the insulation board consists of two layers of Signature Torch on systems; first layer was a torch on Signature 25 Underlay followed by Signature torch on Cap Sheet.
All perimeter edge detail was finished with a Signature GRP edge trim to achieve good aesthetics from ground level.
This roof was completed to Signature specification; the works were regularly inspected by a Signature Specification Engineer who documented the progress and quality of workmanship.
All documents will all be collated and given to the client to confirm the 25 year warranty. Download more information about this case study
